Georgia Tech’s 2027 football slate will feature a notable change: the Yellow Jackets will not make their previously scheduled trip to Notre Dame.
The adjustment comes as the ACC shifts to a full nine‑game conference schedule beginning that season, forcing several programs to reshuffle long‑planned non‑conference matchups. For Tech, the added league game means the Fighting Irish fall off the calendar entirely.
The new ACC rotation gives Georgia Tech four conference home games in 2027—California, Pitt, Virginia, and Virginia Tech—and five on the road, with trips to Boston College, Florida State, Miami, SMU, and Wake Forest. It’s a demanding lineup that leans heavily on travel, including two long‑distance flights to California and Texas.
Even without Notre Dame, the Jackets’ non‑conference schedule remains challenging. Georgia Tech will host in‑state rival Georgia (November 27) and FCS opponent Hampton (new date to be determined) at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Hyundai Field.
The Yellow Jackets will also travel to Knoxville for a marquee matchup against Tennessee, which completes a home-and-home series that began this season in Atlanta. Combined with the expanded ACC slate, 2027 shapes up as one of the program’s more rigorous schedules in recent years.
As for the future of Georgia Tech-Notre Dame, the Yellow Jackets currently list future games against the Fighting Irish in 2029 (away), 2032 (away), and 2036 (home).

It’s website actually lists Notre Dame as a home game in 2032 but the October 30 date contradicts today’s announcement of the Nebraska series for ND.
Correct, they probably haven't received a new date from the ACC yet.
