The Florida Gators and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2031 and 2032, both schools announced on Tuesday.
The series will kick off with Florida traveling to take on Notre Dame at Notre Dame Stadium in South Bend, Ind., on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2031. The Gators will then host the Fighting Irish at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium in Gainesville, Fla., on Saturday, Sept. 11, 2032, which will conclude the two-game series.
Florida and Notre Dame have only met once previously on the gridiron. In the Sugar Bowl on January 1, 1992, the Fighting Irish defeated the Gators 39-28.
Notre Dame is the fourth non-conference opponent scheduled for the Florida Gators in 2031, and all four are against Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) opponents. The Gators are slated to open the season at the Texas Longhorns on Sept. 6 and later host the Arizona State Sun Devils on Sept. 13 and the Florida State Seminoles on Nov. 29.
In 2032, Florida is also scheduled to host the NC State Wolfpack on a date to be determined and travel to take on Florida State on Nov. 27.
Notre Dame, an FBS Independent, now has six games scheduled for both the 2031 and 2032 seasons. Other opponents scheduled for 2031 include NC State, Miami (FL), and Navy at home and Clemson, Virginia, and Pitt on the road.
Opponents scheduled for the 2032 season include Florida State, Louisville, and Wake Forest in South Bend and Georgia Tech, Miami (FL), and Navy on the road.
