Tim Tebow completed 18-of-30 passes for 231 yards and 2 touchdowns and rushed for 109 yards to lead the Florida Gators to a 24-14 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners in the 2009 BCS National Championship game.
The win gives the Gators their 2nd national championship in the last three years and their third overall.
The story of the game may have been Florida’s defense, which held the vaunted Sooner offense to only 14 points and 363 total yards.
They also stopped Oklahoma twice on fourth down inside their own 10-yard line, once on a rush at the 1-yard line and then intercepted a Sam Bradford pass at the 3-yard line.
