The Florida Atlantic Owls have added the Stony Brook Seawolves to their 2020 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.
Florida Atlantic will host Stony Brook at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton on Sept. 12, 2020. The Owls will pay the Sea Wolves a $400,000 guarantee for the game, per a copy of the contract obtained from Florida Atlantic University via a state public records request.
Stony Brook is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Seawolves finished the 2017 season 10-3 after falling to James Madison 26-7 in the second round of the FCS Playoffs.
The addition of Stony Brook tentatively completes Florida Atlantic’s non-conference schedule for the 2020 season.
The Owls are scheduled to open the 2020 season at Minnesota on Thursday, Sept. 3. After hosting Stony Brook on Sept. 12, FAU is scheduled to play at Georgia Southern on Sept. 19 and then host USF at FAU Stadium in Sept. 26.
FBSchedules has also learned that Florida Atlantic’s Sept. 5, 2020 game at Illinois has been rescheduled for Sept. 23, 2023, per a copy of a contract amendment obtained from FAU.
Florida Atlantic opens the 2018 season on Saturday, Sept. 1 at the Oklahoma Sooners.
