The Florida Atlantic Owls have added the UMass Minutemen to their 2020 football schedule, it was announced on Friday.
Florida Atlantic will host UMass at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton, Fla., on Friday, Nov. 20. The game will be televised by the CBS Sports Network (CBSSN) at 8:00pm ET.
The Florida Atlantic-UMass contests will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Florida Atlantic has only played three games so far this season and all three were Conference USA contests. The Owls are 2-1 on the season following wins at home over Charlotte and UTSA and a road loss at then 22nd-ranked Marshall.
Next up for the Owls is a home contest against Western Kentucky on Saturday, Nov. 7 followed by a road game at FIU on Friday, Nov. 13, one week before the Minutemen visit Boca Raton.
UMass canceled their season back in August, but the Minutemen announced their intention to return to the gridiron in late September.
In their first contest on Saturday, Oct. 17, UMass traveled to Georgia Southern and got blown out, 41-0. The Minutemen have not played since, but they return to the gridiron on Saturday at 16th-ranked Marshall.
UMass’ only other game currently scheduled is at 25th-ranked Liberty on Friday, Nov. 27.
