College football rankings: Week 8, 2019

College football rankings for week 8 of the 2019 season have been released. Alabama remains on top, while LSU moved into 2nd in the AP Poll.

The LSU Tigers, previously ranked 5th in the AP Poll and 6th in the Coaches Poll, defeated then No. 7 Florida on Saturday, 42-28. The Tigers jumped over Clemson and Ohio State to No. 2 in the AP Poll and over Ohio State and Oklahoma to No. 3 in the Coaches Poll.

Four teams received first-place votes in the AP and Coaches polls this week. Alabama leads the way with 30 and 44, followed by Clemson (11, 14), LSU (12, 3), and Ohio State (9, 4).

Penn State, Baylor, and Cincinnati are among several teams that moved up in both polls this week. The Penn State Nittany Lions defeated then No. 17 Iowa on the road, 17-12, which propelled them up three spots in the AP Poll to No. 7 and up two spots in the Coaches Poll, also to No. 7.

The Baylor Bears moved up four spots to No. 18 in the AP Poll and five spots to No. 18 in the Coaches Poll after defeating Texas Tech 33-30 in double overtime this past weekend.

Cincinnati, which won at Houston 38-23, moved up four spots in the AP Poll to No. 21 and jumped into the Coaches Poll at No. 21.
