The Cincinnati Bearcats and the UCLA Bruins have scheduled a home-and-home football series for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, the Orange County Register has reported.
News of the series was first reported by the Cincinnati Enquirer, but the dates were stated as 2019 and 2020.
In the first game of the series, UCLA will host Cincinnati at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena in 2018. The Bruins will then travel to face the Bearcats at Nippert Stadium in 2019.
Cincinnati and UCLA have never squared off on the gridiron.
Based on currently scheduled games for both teams in 2018, Cincinnati and UCLA will likely meet to open the season on Sept. 1. The possible date in 2019 is not as clear due to other games on the schedule.
Currently, Cincinnati is set to host Miami, OH (Sept. 15) and Ohio (Sept. 22) in 2018. The following season, the Bearcats have three road games slated — Ohio State (Sept. 7), Miami, OH (Sept. 14), and Boise State (Sept. 21).
The addition of Cincinnati would likely complete the non-conference schedule for UCLA for both 2018 and 2019. The Bruins also visit Oklahoma (Sept. 8) and host Fresno State (Sept. 15) in 2018, while in 2019 they host both San Diego State (Aug. 31) and Oklahoma (Sept. 14).
