It’s Christmas Eve 2020 and there is one football game on the schedule today.
Football action on Christmas Eve this year features the New Mexico Bowl at Toyota Stadium in Frisco, Texas. The Hawaii Rainbow Warriors will take on the Houston Cougars in that matchup, which will be televised by ESPN at 3:30pm ET.
The New Mexico Bowl is typically played at Dreamstyle Stadium in Albuquerque, N.M., but the game was moved this season due to the ongoing novel coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
Since Christmas Eve falls on a Thursday this year, there will be no Thursday Night Football contest in the NFL. Instead, the New Orleans Saints will host the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow on Christmas afternoon. The game will kickoff at 4:30pm ET with the broadcast on FOX, the NFL Network, and Amazon.
One college football bowl game is also scheduled for Christmas day. The Marshall Thundering Herd and the Buffalo Bulls will square off in the Camellia Bowl at the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. The game will be televised by ESPN at 2:30pm ET.
The day after Christmas (Saturday, Dec. 26) offers a slate of six games, three of which are college football bowl games and three are in the NFL. One bowl game on Saturday, the Gasparilla Bowl, has been canceled. The matchup was set to feature South Carolina vs. UAB.
