The Charlotte 49ers and the Georgia State Panthers have scheduled a four-game football series for 2020 through 2023, the schools announced today.
Charlotte will host Georgia State at Jerry Richardson Stadium on Sept. 26, 2020 and again on Sept. 16, 2023. Georgia State will play host to the 49ers in Atlanta on Sept. 18, 2021 and again on Sept. 17, 2022.
The two schools are already scheduled to meet this season at the Georgia Dome on Sept. 4 and then at Charlotte on Sept. 9, 2017.
Georgia State is the first announced non-conference opponent for Charlotte for the 2020 through 2023 seasons.
The Charlotte 49ers started their football program in 2013. In both seasons as an FCS Independent, Charlotte has finished with a 5-6 record. The program is transitioning to the Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) and officially joins Conference USA on July 1.
Georgia State now has two non-conference games lined up for 2020 and 2021. The Panthers also visit SEC powers Alabama in 2020 (Sept. 12) and Auburn in 2021 (Sept. 25).
