The Central Michigan Chippewas have added the New Hampshire Wildcats to their 2023 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned.

A copy of the game contract was obtained from Central Michigan University via a state of Michigan Freedom of Information Act request.

Central Michigan will host New Hampshire at Kelly/Shorts Stadium in Mount Pleasant, Mich., on September 9, 2023. Central Michigan will pay New Hampshire a $350,000 guarantee for playing the game, according to the copy of the contract.

Central Michigan and New Hampshire have only met twice on the gridiron. The Chippewas defeated the Wildcats in both contests, 40-33 in 2003 and 24-21 in 2013.

New Hampshire is a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). The Wildcats are scheduled to play their 2020-21 season this spring, which begins with a home game against UAlbany on Saturday, March 6.

New Hampshire is the third scheduled non-conference opponent for Central Michigan for the 2023 season. The Chippewas are scheduled to open the season on the road against the Michigan State Spartans on Sept. 2 and will also play at the South Alabama Jaguars on Sept. 23.

Central Michigan is the second scheduled non-conference opponent for New Hampshire in 2023. The Wildcats are also scheduled to host the Dartmouth Big Green on Sept. 16 that season.
