The BYU Cougars and the UCLA Bruins have scheduled a home-and-home football series for 2015 and 2016, both schools announced today.

In the first game, BYU will travel to face UCLA at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on Sept. 19, 2015. The Cougars will host the second and final game of the series at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo on Sept. 17, 2016.

“I’m exited for this series with UCLA. It’s a great matchup versus an opponent rich in football tradition, and a team that will be fighting for a Pac-12 championship,” said BYU director of athletics Tom Holmoe. “It’s also a great opportunity for our large fan base in Southern California to see the Cougars play in the Rose Bowl—one of the most storied football venues in the country.”

BYU and UCLA have met ten times with the Bruins holding a 7-3 advantage in the series. In their last meeting in 2008, BYU beat UCLA 59-0 in Provo.

For UCLA, the BYU series in 2015 and 2016 replaces a previously scheduled series against Nevada. The Bruins also have future series set against Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Fresno State, San Diego State, Rutgers, LSU and Michigan.

BYU now has 12 games scheduled for the 2015 season, but there will likely be a change to their current lineup since only five games are at home.
