The Boston College Eagles have added a game against New Mexico State to their 2013 football schedule and will open the season vs. Stony Brook, several sources have reported.

The Stony Brook Seawolves will visit Alumni Stadium in Chestnut Hill to open the 2013 season on Aug. 31. This matchup was previously reported, but the date was recently reported by Newsday writer Greg Logan (via BCInterruption.com).

Stony Brook, a member of the Colonial Athletic Association in the FCS, has never faced Boston College in football.

Boston College will also host New Mexico State in 2013 according to the Boston Globe. A date for the game was not announced, but it will likely fall on Nov. 9, Nov. 16, or Nov. 23. The game will also be the first ever meeting between the two schools.

New Mexico State will be an FBS Independent beginning with the 2013 football season. The Aggies have been a member of the WAC since 2005, but the conference will no longer sponsor football.

The addition of of New Mexico State completes the 2013 non-conference slate for BC. After opening against Stony Brook, the Eagles travel to USC (Sept. 14), host Army (Oct. 5), and later host NMSU.

The 2013 ACC schedule has not yet been released, but most of the opponents are known. If the conference scheduling format remains the same, BC will host Florida State, NC State, and Wake Forest and will travel to Clemson, Maryland, and Virginia Tech. The Eagles will also face new ACC member Syracuse and a Coastal Division team to be announced.
