The Auburn Tigers at Mississippi State Bulldogs football game scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 14 has been postponed, the SEC announced on Monday.

The game was postponed due to “…positive (COVID-19) tests and subsequent quarantining of individuals within the Mississippi State football program.” The game has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday, Dec. 12.

“Based on positive tests and those considered as close contacts, along with non-COVID injuries, we do not have the minimum number of scholarship student-athletes available for Saturday’s game against Auburn,” MSU Director of Athletics John Cohen said. “While we are disappointed that Saturday’s game has been postponed, our priority is the health, safety and well-being of our student-athletes and staff. We will continue to follow all established protocols and evaluate the most responsible path to return to the field.”

The Auburn Tigers are 4-2 so far this season. The Tigers are scheduled to return to the gridiron on Saturday, Nov. 21 when they host the Tennessee Volunteers at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn, Ala. The game is slated for 7:00pm ET and will be televised by ESPN.

Mississippi State, which opened the season with an upset of then 6th-ranked LSU, is currently 2-4 overall. The Bulldogs are next scheduled to play on Saturday, Nov. 21 at the 12th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs. The game will be televised by the SEC Network at 7:30pm ET.
