Army, Notre Dame working on Future Football Series

Matt Cashore-US PRESSWIRE

Army and Notre Dame are in discussions for a future football series, Army athletic director Boo Corrgian confirmed yesterday.

“We’re working through details with the University of Notre Dame on a series,” Corrigan said. “It’s coming in the future. We’re excited about a series that we are going to play with them.”

A couple of years ago, the two schools attempted to schedule a game at Yankee Stadium in 2013, but the talks fell through.

The Black Knights and Fighting Irish last met on Nov. 20, 2010 and that game was played at, coincidentally, Yankee Stadium. Notre Dame won that game 27-3.

Army and Notre Dame have played 50 times overall and the Fighting Irish lead the series 38-8-4.
