Arizona Cardinals vs. Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLIII

Super Bowl XLIII will feature the Arizona Cardinals of the NFC taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers of the AFC. The game will be played on Sunday, February 1, 2009 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida. NBC will broadcast the game beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET.

In the NFC Championship game, the Arizona Cardinals upset the Philadelphia Eagles 32-25. Larry Fitzgerald caught three touchdown passes from Kurt Warner and Tim Hightower caught a touchdown with 2:53 remaining in the game to lift the Cardinals. This will be Arizona’s first appearance in the Super Bowl.

In the AFC, the Pittsburgh Steelers defeated the Baltimore Ravens 23-14. Steelers linebacker Troy Polamalu intercepted a Raven pass and returned it for a touchdown late in the 4th quarter to seal the win. Pittsburgh, 5-time Super Bowl Champions, can become to the only franchise to win six with a victory over the Cardinals.
