The Alcorn State Braves will host the Mississippi College Choctaws in 2019, according to the official website of Mississippi College.
Alcorn State will host Mississippi College at Jack Spinks Stadium in Lorman, Mississippi, on Sept. 7, 2019. The game will mark the first-ever meeting between the two schools on the gridiron.
Mississippi College competes in the Gulf South Conference in Division II. Located in Clinton, Mississippi, the campus of Mississippi College is only a little over an hour drive away from Alcorn State.
Alcorn State has yet to officially announce their 2019 football schedule, as well as two other schools in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). However, other SWAC school releases have revealed dates for five of their contests.
The Braves will host the Prairie View A&M Panthers on Sept. 21 and the Southern Jaguars on Oct. 26. Alcorn State will travel to play the Mississippi Valley State Delta Devils on Sept. 28, the Alabama State Hornets on Oct. 5, the Grambling State Tigers on Nov. 9, and the Jackson State Tigers on Nov. 23.
Alcorn State will open the 2019 season on Saturday, Aug. 31 in Hattiesburg against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The Braves are also slated to play at the McNeese State Cowboys in non-conference action.
The addition of Mississippi College gives Alcorn State 10 opponents in 2019 (seven SWAC plus three non-conference). FCS teams play an 11-game schedule and can add an additional game in 2019 for a total of 12 if they desire, per NCAA rules.
