The 2020 American Athletic Conference Football Schedule has officially been announced. Conference play begins on Saturday, Sept. 19 with Houston at Memphis and Navy at Tulane.
For the 2020 season, the American will play as an 11-team conference without divisions after the departure of the UConn Huskies, who are now a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) Independent.
Featured 2020 non-conference match-ups for each American team include Cincinnati at Nebraska, East Carolina at South Carolina, Houston at Washington State, Memphis at Purdue, Navy vs. Notre Dame (in Dublin, Ireland), TCU at SMU, Temple at Miami (FL), Tulane at Mississippi State, Tulsa at Oklahoma State, North Carolina at UCF, and USF at Texas.
The 2020 American Athletic Conference Football Championship Game is set for Saturday, Dec. 5 at the home stadium of the team with the best conference record. The game will be televised by either ABC or ESPN.
Kickoff times and television designations for the first three weeks of the season will be announced in June. The remaining kickoff times and TV will be announced six to 12 days prior to the date of the game.
