Reports: 2012 SEC Football Schedules to be released next week

The 2012 SEC football schedules should be released next week, several sources within the conference have indicated.

On Tuesday, Arkansas AD Jeff Long tweeted that the schedules should be released “before Christmas.”

Yesterday, UGA athletic director Greg McGarity said on Bulldog Roundtable on 680 the Fan that the 2012 SEC schedules should be released “Monday or Tuesday.”

All indications are that the SEC intends to have the 2012 schedules stand on their own and then develop a long term scheduling format for 2013 and into the future. The conference will continue to play an 8-game schedule rather than expand to nine.

In the meantime, take a look at our 2012 SEC football schedules as they are today. Several ’12 schedules had already been finalized, including Georgia, Kentucky and Ole Miss. All 14 SEC schedules will be updated as soon as they are released.
